Notebook
1. Abortionists
Biskind and Steir face
prison sentences for deaths of abortion patients.
2. Abortionist
in Massachusetts
threatens to harm his staff, and the pro-aborts defend him because there is a
shortage of abortion providers in that state.
3. In
Covington,
NY, man slips abortifacient into drink of woman who was pregnant with his
baby but refused to have an abortion. The baby survives.
4. In
Utah,
a girl’s stepfather has incestuous relationship with her, gets her pregnant, then takes her in for an abortion. When girl tells her
mother, the man assaults both females as a warning not to tell anyone else. He
has since been arrested.
5. A
judge has ruled that (pro-lifer) Neal Horsley’s slander suit against Geraldo
Rivera can go forward. Horsley sued Rivera because on his Live
show, Rivera claimed that fault for the death of slain abortionists belonged to
Horsley because of a web-site the pro-lifer maintained.
6. Senate
is trying to pass legislation that would prohibit pro-lifers from filing
bankruptcy if they are sued.
7. Life
Talk is now being broadcast on television weekly.
8. LDI
attends National Religious Broadcaster’s Convention.

Consistency in the Pro-Life Movement
1. Horror
of all abortions not just late-term.
2. The
location of the baby when it is killed during an abortion should make no
difference.
3. Baby
Parts Marketing and Partial-Birth Abortion get the attention because they
happen outside the womb.
4. The
focus of pro-lifers should not be on the brutality (all abortions are brutal),
but on the killing itself.
5. Pro-lifers
must address the earliest abortions also. i.e.
morning-after pill; abortifacient birth control.
6. Incremental
approach to legislation offers no legal protection to the unborn.
7. If
you accept no exceptions to the pro-life position from the moment of
fertilization through natural death, then you need no apologies.
8. There
are pro-life arguments out there, which suggest that some lives are more worthy
of living than others are. This is morally indefensible.

Post-Election Strategies
1. We
had 12 years of pro-life Presidents and yet we gained nothing. Every baby
conceived in America
can still legally be aborted.
2. Christians
are responsible for holding President Bush accountable.
3. It
is well within the President’s powers to do something about abortion.
4. Bush
did reinstate the Mexico City
policy, which keeps U.S.
funds from being used to kill babies in other countries, but this does not help
American babies.
5. Bush
will do no more on the abortion issue than what we make him do.
6. For
this reason, LDI has created the First Step Initiative, which is a petition
asking the President to do two things to stop abortion in this country.
7. The
first action is to set up a committee whose sole purpose will be to develop and
implement a plan to stop abortion in America.
8. The
second action is to create a public service campaign that will prepare the
American public for this event. It will be modeled after the anti-drug,
tobacco, violence campaigns that are already in effect.
9. The
petitions are available at LDI and are on-line also.
10. All petitions must be returned to LDI by July 31, 2001.
11. Ideas on where to collect signatures.

Soapbox – Pro-lifer Christine Wilson is
fired from her job at U.S. West Communications for wearing a button that
stated, “Stop Abortion.”
·
Action Cards Project
1. LDI
has created 10 different business size cards with a pro-life message on them.
These can be left in a multitude of places, and the goal is to help spread the
pro-life message throughout the country.
2. These
cards sell for $2.50 per 100.
3. The
10 cards that are available have the following messages:
A. Breast
Cancer - Over 30 medical studies now show that having an abortion substantially
increases a woman’s risk of developing breast cancer.
B. Call
it Choice or Call it Murder. You certainly can’t call it medicine. …
C. The
Cost of an Abortion: 1 Dead 1 Wounded
D. It’s
a fact – of the 4000 abortions performed in America
every single day, virtually none are performed on women who are pregnant
through either rape or incest.
